About Heritara
A small, steady service
built around household records.
We started Heritara because sorting through a household's papers is almost always harder than it looks — and almost nobody explains what each document actually is, or what to do with it.

How Heritara came to be
Heritara grew from a practical gap noticed over many years of working with families in Chiang Mai. When someone in a household becomes ill, moves abroad, or passes away, the people left behind often find themselves confronting a drawer full of papers they do not understand and cannot easily sort through. Nobody told them what to keep, what each document meant, or how to put it all in order.
We opened Heritara to address that gap quietly and practically. We are not a legal firm and we do not offer formal advice. What we do is sit with you, go through what you have, explain what each type of document typically is and why households hold on to it, and help you build a filing system that someone else could open and follow six months from now.
Our work is based in Chiang Mai, and most of our clients are families with a mix of Thai and international records — property deeds, insurance documents, bank correspondence, and the general accumulation that gathers over a lifetime. We speak to all of it calmly and without hurry.
The name Heritara comes from the idea of heritage and care — a record kept well is a small act of consideration for the people who will one day need to find it.
Our Purpose
To make it straightforward for any household to hold their records in good order — clear enough that a family member could find what they need without confusion.
Our Limits
We are not lawyers, accountants, or financial advisors. We organise, explain in plain terms, and refer you to the right professionals whenever a situation calls for formal help.
Our Location
203 Charoen Prathet Road, Chang Khlan, Mueang, Chiang Mai 50100, Thailand

How We Work
Standards we hold ourselves to
Confidentiality
Everything you share with us — documents, family circumstances, financial context — is treated as entirely private. We do not retain copies of your personal documents after a programme concludes.
Scope Clarity
We are clear about what we do and what we do not do. If a question or situation falls outside general information and document organisation, we say so and point you to the right professional resource.
Plain Communication
We do not use legal or financial jargon in our sessions. If a technical term comes up, we explain it. Our printed materials are written so that any adult can read and understand them.
Unhurried Pace
We schedule each session with enough time to work carefully. We do not rush through a household's records, and we do not pressure anyone to decide or commit to anything during a visit.
Accurate Referrals
When we point you toward an official body, government office, or professional service, we make sure the information we give you is current and specific. We do not give vague suggestions.
Respectful Conduct
We treat every household and every family situation with equal consideration. We do not make assumptions about what you need, and we listen carefully before suggesting how we might help.
Document organisation for households in Chiang Mai
Many families in Chiang Mai hold a wide range of documents: Thai land title deeds, Chanote certificates, insurance policies from both Thai and international providers, bank account records, vehicle documents, and correspondence with various government departments. Over time, these accumulate without any clear system, and a household can easily lose track of what it holds, where things are, or what each document is for.
Heritara works with households to bring all of this into a single, clearly labelled archive. We sort by category, label each item plainly, and produce a written index so that any family member can navigate the archive without needing to ask. For households with members abroad, the written summary we provide is particularly useful — it means a relative in Bangkok or London can understand the family's records without needing to be present.
Our approach is entirely informational and organisational. We do not draft wills, interpret legal documents, advise on financial structures, or assist with formal estate proceedings. For all of those matters, we refer clients to licensed solicitors, notaries, and financial advisors registered in Thailand. What we provide is the groundwork — a household that knows what it holds and can find it easily is far better prepared for any formal process that may follow.
We are based on Charoen Prathet Road and serve households throughout Chiang Mai and its surrounding districts. We occasionally work with families in other provinces by arrangement.
